Screve Ohio U.S.A. circa 1990.
This wonderful old car left Egypt and returned to the U.K. about 1956 "demobed" sold and then in 1957/8 converted by Mascot Motors of London into a hearse and sold to a firm of undertakers in Liverpool who used it up until the end of the 1960s.
The car was sold again, and o U.S.A. it spent the next 20 years working for various funeral parlours in that state, The picture above was taken in Screve Ohio circa 1990, the car was sold shortly after to a buyer in upstate New York, I have now lost all trace of it, so if you are reading this in the USA and have seen the car around please mail me at canalzone@btinternet.com I would love an up to date picture of the old lady in her American surroundings.
I'm still very short of info on the cars pre 1948 history, I think it left the UK via the Liverpool docks in 1944, probably for GHQ.MELF Cairo but I'm not sure about this can any ex-melf service personnel help with this information.
The car may have been "mothballed" in the UK for most of the war, but again I'm not sure so any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
